Who we are
Well… “we” is “me”. My name is Michael McKay, and I started Kamei Photo Lab based on one sentence I here people say constantly: “The image doesn’t do it justice.”
I’m here to DO IT JUSTICE. Growing up, I’d take photos with my phone or even my family’s DSLR camera and, still, the images I captured never captured what I was seeing.
Now that I’m older, I’ve gone pro. And I’m finally able to take photos that truly allow me to relive my memories as if they are fresh in my mind. That’s why I started this, because I know someone like yourself has longed for images that justify your experiences out in nature.
This year, I turned 24, and I won my first ever award (2 awards for that matter), and, you guessed it, I won in the landscape photography category. That’s right, your boy is an award winning photographer!
Before my professional career in photography, I was a web developer, fighting for my life to get a job (and I failed), so I went with plan B— start my own photography business.
Being out in nature is refreshing, and takes me away from the fast pace environment. Instead of chasing deadlines and clients (and employment), I’d rather be chasing sunsets and cloud inversions.
If you don’t think we’ll be at each other’s throats at the end of a hiking trip, then we should definitely meet up
